A renaissance in kite flying occurred in Colorado when Reza opens his shop in Aurora in 1981. The inspiration for his beautifully designed kites came from sources as diverse as southwestern native American motifs and the Persian carpet designs that were part of hin own heritage.

This accompanying plaque explained the origin of the large OSOW rokkaku

Reza’s reputation rested his excellent craftsmanship and his ability to build kites that were exceptionally airworthy. The joy that he had in flying kites was apparent to all who saw him in action in one of Denver’s parks on Sunday afternoons. His shop, Hi Fli Kites, became a destination for kite enthusiasts from all over the globe.
